The footprint of the boathouse is a simple square plan, and the structure rests on wood pilings. The Miller Boathouse is a two-story, wet boathouse with a front gable roof covered in asphalt shingles. ![]() Having been moved across the winter ice in 1949, the boathouse now sits opposite its original site, on the north shore of Laurel Lake. Miller, a prominent member of the Chicago and NorthWestern Railroad Company, constructed the private boathouse c.1920 on the Three Lakes Rod and Gun Club property.
